Getting to know better our local products:
In May we visited GRALHEIRA , the highest village in Portugal, which is 27 km from our school. There, we have the best products of our region: Serranitas– handcraft made of burel fabric. We also have traditional smoked pork meat – Sabor a Terra e Serra and traditional bread and bread with meat used to be made in the traditional wood-fire ovens by its villagers.
In Gralheira ‘Serranitas’ – handmade products made with BUREL ‘Sabor a Terre e a Serra’ – traditional smoked pork meat ‘Bolas de carne’ (Bread with meat) – used to be made in the traditional wood-fired ovens by its villagers, a long time ago. Thank you Dona Ilda Botelho for the tasty bread we had! ‘Brezes’ – small handmade baskets Mr. Carlos Silvestre explaining how small, beautiful baskets are made.
